2004-2005, chairman of the European Regional Committee of IOSCO (International Organization of Securities Commissions).
2003-2005, chairman of the Board of the Instituto Iberoamericano de Mercado de Valores (IIMV).
2001-2005, chairman of the Committee of European Securities Regulators (CESR) Expert Group which prepares CESR’s responses to mandates from the European Commission on possible implementing measures of the proposed Prospectus Directive.
2000-2004, chairman of the Executive Committee of IOSCO (International Organization of Securities Commissions).
2000-2005, chairman of the Portuguese Securities Exchange Commission (CMVM - Comissão do Mercado de Valores Mobiliários).
